ILKLEY Harriers' Tom Adams and Jack Wood were part of the Yorkshire men's team that won the Inter-county FRA championship race at Moel Eilio in Snowdonia on Saturday.

Adams was fifth overall in 62min 15sec and Wood was 22nd in 65:45 for the 12.8km race which had, 915metre of ascent.

Their Yorkshire team-mate Ben Mounsey from Calder ValleyFell Runners won the race in a time of 60:31 while Robb Jebb, 12th in 63:54 and Tom Saville, 17th in 64:58, completed the White Rose line-up.

With the first three finishers for each county counting towards the team prize, Yorkshire were comfortable winners with 18 points. North Wales (44) and Greater Manchester (51) were second and third respectively.

Yorkshire women, who included the former Ilkley Harrier Georgia Malir, were runners up to an impressive Cumbria team which filled the first three places through Heidi Dent, Lou Roberts and Annie Conway.

Malir finished 24th in the women's race and was the fifth under-23 finisher.
