TALENTED teenager Jemima Elgood was in record-breaking form for Ilkley Harriers in the popular Stoop Fell Race at Haworth on Sunday.

She knocked over two minutes off the previous under-18 women’s record which was set in 2004 by Great Britain international Emma Clayton.

Elgood, who was the third lady finisher, clocked 39min 42sec and helped Ilkley Harriers win the ladies team prize.

Kate Archer (43:40) and another under-18 runner Lucy Haines (45.56) completed the successful line-up.

Tom Adams, who was chasing a fourth win in the event, had to settle for second place this time, just four seconds behind winner Rob Hope.

Adams clocked 31:12 and his clubmate Jack Wood came home fourth in 33:31.

Daniel Hayes (37:43), Paul Carman (37:54), Mark Mon-Williams 38.32) and Michael Lomas (39.47) all had sub-40 times.

Malcolm Pickering, Jann Smith, Rebecca Mon-Williams and Sarah Haines were all well placed in their respective age category.

Ilkley Harriers were well placed in the second PECO cross country with the ladies coming first in Division Two and the men second in Division Two.
