THE Brownlee brothers head for London this weekend as they bid for victory in the sixth round of the World Triathlon Series.
Alistair won his Olympic gold medal in the capital in 2012 with brother Jonny taking the bronze, but the London race hasn’t been kind to them in the past.
But the Brownlees have been in good form and their chances will be boosted by the absence of defending world champion Javier Gomez.
Jonny, who won in Auckland and Gold Coast while Alistair was recovering from an ankle injury, has performed well in sprint events like Sunday’s race before.
He has missed the last two rounds to train up in which Alistair won in Cape Town and was second in Yokohama.
The big danger is Mario Mola of Spain who will wear the No 1 on his vest. He took top spot over the sprint distance both in London in 2014 and Abu Dhabi earlier this year, both with an impressive final kick
