BEN Rhydding Croquet Club duo Libby Dixon, left, and Penny Clark, right, finished second and third respectively in the national Grassroots Croquet competition.
Organised by the Croquet Association, the tournament is for beginners who have not played in a national competition before.
Ben Rhydding’s Trevor Wood is a previous winner of the competition, in 2010.
Meanwhile, the club have just celebrated their annual Finals Day. Ken Clark won the singles competition and Penny Clark and Keith Terry won the Cynthia Barraclough Challenge Cup for mixed doubles.
The event was watched by many club members who enjoyed a BBQ afterwards.
Anybody interested in playing croquet should visit the website www.benrhyddingcroquet.co.uk. Taster sessions are available until the end of October.
