Yorkshire Division Two: Roundhegians 31 Old Grovians 26
OLD Grovians suffered late heartbreak in their 31-26 defeat at Roundhegians in Yorkshire Division Two.
The visitors were leading 26-24, only to concede a try and conversion with the last play of the game.
“We should have gone through the phases at the end, but instead we kicked the ball away,” admitted Grovians’ head coach Dan Nulty.
"It is a pity because we played well, and there was some controversy about the try that put them 24-19 ahead.
"We thought that Danny Secker had tackled their player into touch, but their touch judge, who wasn't anywhere near it, didn't give it and the referee awarded a try."
Nulty added: "We lost scrum half Tom Hough with a torn bicep, so Ben Brown moved to scrum half with Nathan Barr going to fly half.
"Also Danny did really well at full back, but we were again short on numbers."
