HOSTS BRADFORD & BINGLEY renew rivalry with CLECKHEATON on Saturday.

"We haven't met since 2005-06 when we were both in National League Three North," said Bees secretary Nick Patterson, and it will be good to catch up.

"We had three or four years when we were very much nip and tuck.

"They are one of three derbies for us this season with West Leeds and Huddersfield YMCA, while for all of the others you could not get there without recharging your electric car."

Both teams started their North One East campaign with defeats, with the Bees going down 28-7 at Driffield, while Cleckheaton were losing 38-20 at Penrith, who were losing finalists in the 2016-17 end-of-season play-offs.

Back for the home side are centres James Morton and Ben Greaves, lock Harry Jeffrey and replacement back-rower Max Mountain, but out is player-coach Ali Macdonald, who broke an ankle in the warm-up and has subsequently caught pneumonia.

Cleckheaton, relegated from National League Three North last season, hand a debut to player-coach Thiu Barnard in the back row, and welcome back prop Paul Turner and winger Alex Garden, who missed last week's defeat with tonsillitis.

Garden is expected to switch to full back at some stage on Saturday, while promoted from the bench to partner Barnard in the back row at No 8 is Jack Seddon, who played well at Penrith.

OLD GROVIANS, who showed pluck in picking up a losing bonus point at home to Yarnbury, who are bidding to bounce straight back up from Yorkshire Division Two, are at Ripon.

BAILDON lost 53-0 at home to Hemsworth in Yorkshire Division Three, and coach Andy Pollard said: "It was good that we had three colts in the team but it was a bad game for them to play in.

"Hemsworth were a good, well-organised side."

The Jenny Laners are at home again this weekend to Leeds Medics & Dentists and are without flanker Danny Pollard (shoulder), Jack Aaron and Josh Strauss.

However, in come the latter's brothers Harrison and Luke, Matt Withers and Chris Peel.

WIBSEY, safely into the second round of the Yorkshire Vase after a 48-19 home victory over BP Chemicals, start their Yorkshire Four North West campaign at Bramley Phoenix.

Back for the Northfield Laners are David Wilkinson, Michael Kite, Alex Cerson, Danny Carr, Richard Hall and Ryan Goldsborough.
