ILKLEY will be looking to end their National League Three North programme on a high when they tackle Kendal at Stacks Field on Saturday.

The Dalesmen are keen to bounce back after losing 26-25 to a last-gasp try at Lymm last week.

Head of rugby Rhys Morgan was disappointed by the way his team went “off piste” in the closing stages.

He said: “We started trying silly chips and running the ball out of our 22 when we simply needed to get it off the pitch.

“We made the sort of errors I thought we had got out of our game weeks ago.”

Morgan will be stressing to his players the need to stick to their game plan on Saturday.

H e said: “They must listen to what the captain and our player-coach Nathan Smith is telling them.

“I don’t want them doing their own thing. It is important that they follow instructions.”

Ilkley will be boosted by the return of Smith, scrum half Jack Maplesden and winger Lewis Johnston.

They lost narrowly at Kendal earlier this year and Morgan is keen to get revenge with a good performance.
