ILKLEY have been given home advantage in the Spray Plant (UK) Ltd Aire-Wharfe Cup final.

They defeated Wharfedale's Development XV 39-29 in the first semi-final on Tuesday and then won the draw the following night to host the final against Old Otliensians, which has been pencilled in for next Wednesday.

Centre Nathan Jones scored four of Ilkley's tries, Dave Smith also crossing, while full back Andy Malley kicked four conversions and two penalties in an open and absorbing contest.

Otliensians defeated Yarnbury Seconds 40-31 at Brownberrie Lane in a match that was full of endeavour but also had more than its fair share of mistakes.

The visitors led 24-7 on the back of Luke Freer's hat-trick but were pulled back to 24-20 before extending that gap to 41-25, with Yarnbury getting the final try.

Other try-scorers for Otliensians were Nick Keinhorst, Luke Cowdell and Will Bowie (on his debut), Cowdell adding four conversions and Kris Keinhorst a late drop goal.

Big second row James Falgate helped Yarnbury hit back with a try in each half, before being yellow-carded in the second half, and other tries for the hosts came from Joe Pinnock, Nathan Benton and James Daffern, Jarrod Huss adding a conversion and a penalty.

The Spray Plant (UK) Ltd Aire-Wharfe Plate final will be at Aireborough, who host Bradford & Bingley's second string, potentially next Tuesday.

Aireborough defeated Roundhegians Seconds in one semi-final, with the Bees winning the other tie at Keighley Seconds.
