SEVEN wins and a draw in ten games this year have ensured a mid-table finish for Ilkley in their first National Three North campaign.

Their visitors to Stacks Field on Saturday wish they could say the same. Huddersfield YMCA are desperate for points as they strive to stave off relegation.

Their plight will give an added edge to Ilkley's final home fixture of the season.

Huddersfield YMCA will be striving to put another blot on Ilkley's record at Stacks Field which is nowhere near as impressive as their form on the road.

The Dalesmen have won six of their last seven away encounter but they have only won once at home – against Rossendale two weeks ago – since the end of October.

The two sides last met in league combat three season's ago when YMCA pipped Ilkley to promotion from Yorkshire One.

Ilkley's head of rugby Rhys Morgan said: "I am sure they will come out with all guns blazing. They need to win to stay up and that will make it a tough test for us.

"I hope we show the same resolve we did at Waterloo last Saturday when we had to really battle hard for the win.

"I know that many of our players are feeling a little tired after what has been a tough season, butI am sure they will be up to the test."

Morgan has hinted that he might rest on or two of his regular side with the tough final day assignment at table-topping Sheffield Tigers in mind.

He said: "We need to give some thought to our selection. We don't have the biggest of squads and many of our players have had a lot of game time and some of them might benefit from a break."
