THE injuries continue to pile up and so the wins for North One East new boys Ilkley.

Last season's Yorkshire One champions have won four of their opening six games and now they will be bidding to improve that tally against Ainwick at Stacks Field on Saturday.

The Dalesmen have been unbeaten at home for more than a year and will be anxious to preserve that record.

James Colclough became the latest player to be added to the casualty list when he hurt a knee in last Saturday's 63-20 victory at Horden.

But skipper Stuart Vincent is back in training and could come into contention to face Ainwick.

"There's some hot competition for places in the backs right now," said coach Rhys Morgan. "Nine of our ten tries came from backs last week and although we are having a tough time in the pack with all our injuries, the backs are dangerous whenever they get the ball."

Teenager Ben Magee added to his growing reputation with a hat-trick at Horden while winger Ricky Palachio marked his first appearance as a replacement with a score too.

"Players like Ben Magee and JH Johnson have real pace and they are causing our opponents problems. It is good to see us scoring so many tries," said Morgan.

Another player who has made his mark in recent weeks is flanker Will Coates. "He was only on the fringes of the second team last season but he has stepped up this time and was our man of the match at Horden," added the delighted coach."
