Ilkley take a break from league action on Saturday when they take on North Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire Shield at Stacks Field.

The Dalesmen have already beaten the Settle side, so often their bogey team, this season and would love a repeat.

Head of rugby Rhys Morgan has vowed to put out strong side as winning the Yorkshire Shield is one of Ilkley’s objectives for the season.

The competition is the gateway to the National Intermediate Cup with a final at Twickenham and Ilkley, who lost to East Grinstead in the 2012 final, are keen to go back to headquarters again.

Morgan said: “We know the sort of game that North Ribblesdale will give us and it is important that we approach it correctly.

”Scrum half Ryan Cooper, who has missed the last two games, should be back in contention for a place.”
