Chapeltown 0 Ben Rhydding 0
BEN Rhydding are one of just three teams in Division One of the North Men's League who have yet to lose a game after three rounds of fixtures – although remarkably this was their third draw in a row.
Thanks to new keeper Torran Hockley, they have conceded only five goals so far and this is the joint second-best tally in the league to date.
On an agonizingly slow pitch, Rhydding found it difficult to find their rhythm but had long passages of patient possession.
They were impressive defensively but struggled to make good connections in the last part of the pitch.
Connor Dowley unleashed an impressive drag-flick from a corner which hit the bar, while several other good chances drew gasps of disbelief, but the goals just did not come.
At the other end, Rhydding defended many corners valiantly and brilliantly. It was a sluggish game and a gritty battle to the bitter end.
Rhydding can be disappointed not to have gone home with three points but equally should be proud of their resilient defending to keep out Chapeltown, who are also unbeaten after a win and two draws.
