Ben Rhydding 3 Timperley 4
SKIPPER Will Musgrave netted a hat-trick in Ben Rhydding’s North Men's Premier League game of the season but it was not enough to save his team from defeat.
The visitors went 1-0 ahead with a well-taken shot but Rhydding replied with a great connection by Musgrave onto a fine ball in from Callum Franks.
Timperley took the lead back with another well-struck goal, similar to the first. Rhydding levelled after Musgrave netted and then took the lead when he converted a corner.
At 3-2 up another goal came from Connor Dowley but was disallowed after strong appeals from the Timperley defence. Timperley looked tired and were struggling to stay in the game. This was Rhydding’s big chance to put the match to bed with a number of Timperley players being sent off.
However, they rode it out and got back in the game. Timperley’s key striker hit home again for his hat-trick to make it 3-3 despite being marked tightly. Timperley scored the winner thanks to poor marking.
There were some real positives for this new-look team with debutant defenders Giles Flatt and Lewis Wild impressing..
