Bowdon 2nds 5, Ben Rhydding 0
BEN Rhydding returned from Bowdon without any points and once again leaked goals despite playing some impressive hockey.
The tables turned against them early in the game when a stray pass from Neil Sugden fell to the top of the circle.
Kieran Borrett made a desperate attempt to deny entry, which resulted in the award of a penalty stroke to the home side. This was slotted home comfortably and the game tilted in Bowdon's favour.
The game was fairly even for the next ten minutes, with a corner apiece. Rhydding's drew an easy save from the Bowdon keeper but Bowdon's was converted to put them 2-0 up.
Outstanding defensive work from Myles Locke was not enough to stem the flow.
A ball into the circle bounced off the keeper and fell to a Bowdon player, who gratefully accepted the gift and made it 3-0 going into the second half.
Bowdon made it four with an open-play shot and added a fifth despite touch-tight marking and superb defending from Clemerson, Dowley and Sugden.
