Ben Rhydding 0 Leeds Gryphons 6

THIS was a sickener for Rhydding. They conceded six goals in the second half to slump to another Premier League defeat.

They were left to rue the numerous chances they squandered in a goalless first half as they wilted badly.

Rhydding played the better hockey for the whole of the first half. Shot after shot was saved by the Gryphons keeper and Rhydding entered the circle 16 times – twice as many times as their opponents

The visitors must have been feeling fortunate not to have conceded going in to the break and came out hard in the second half.

Rhydding were indecisive in their marking and challenges to the ball carrier from the start of the new half and looked shaky.

Gryphons scored two goals on the break in quick succession. Rhydding seemed to flag as the game went on and were unable to put the running in that was required.

Gryphons found it easy to get free men into the circle and inevitably scored a third. The wheels really fell off now as Rhydding lost shape and ran out of steam.

Gryphons scored a fourth from a corner and then two sitters to finish things off.
