Ben Rhydding 1 Timperley 2

BEN Rhydding, yet to bag any points in the North Premier League this season, gave an unconvincing performance against Timperley.

A strong battle in the first half left the scores at 1-1, but Ben Rhydding were unable to push on an d win the game.

Timperley went ahead but Rhydding equalised with a slick corner from Will Musgrave. Callum Connor and Connor Dowley put in powerful performances with physical presence without sacrificing discipline which was encouraging progress for the home team.

A moment of reckless defending and a lucky bounce gave Timperley their second goal and a fragile lead that they managed to hang on to despite many corner chances from Ben Rhydding.

The dry pitch did not help the ball speed in the corner routines but players not finishing their jobs properly meant the goals did not come.

Some good midfield work from Andy Harkins and Robert Ramsden was not enough to propel Rhydding’s possession into scoring chances as the final connections did not happen.

Outstanding defence from Myles Locke and sound leadership from Steve Mitchell ensured the Rhydding back line was well organised and hard to break but there is much work to be done in other areas of the pitch.
