Ben Rhydding 4 Preston 6

FRUSTRATED Ben Rhydding had two players controversially dismissed in the second half as they went down to title favourites Preston.

Callum Connor was sent off after the ball was lifted into his chest, and Myles Locke got his marching orders for deliberately trying to kick the ball.

The first half gave no hint of what was to come, however, as Will Musgrave scored from a 13th-minute corner that was perfectly set up by Andy Harkins and Myles Locke, and Danny Foster brilliantly deflected a Musgrave drive into the roof of the net.

Only outstanding defence from Rob Ramsden, Ross McMillan and Max Helme kept the margin at 2-0.

Rhydding's Cam Herbert made some outstanding saves in the second half, but Preston scored from a corner when they had an extra man on the pitch and, after Connor was sent off, they levelled.

Musgrave made it 3-2 and McMillan made it 4-4 before Locke's comical dismissal, and the visitors took less than a minute to take the lead again, finishing Rhydding off with a hard shot from a corner.

Rhydding play Brooklands II in the league on Saturday and Brooklands I in the Cup on Sunday, both away.
