SALEM Athletic have done the double in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League.

Their A team have won Group B, while the B team have become champions of Group C on a final weekend when only seven games were completed, mainly due to the weather.

However, Salem won Group B in a manner they may not have wished as opponents Mayfield were deemed to have forfeited the fixture.

Yorkshire Friends finished second after a winning draw against Girlington.

Friends were all out for 165 in 25 overs. Shahzad Akhtar scoring 44 and Qayum Khan Nasir taking 3-29.

In reply, Girlington held out for a draw by scoring 157-6, with Shahid Saleem unbeaten on 65 and Rizwan Hameed bagging 3-9.

Bradford Gymkhana have finished third, despite losing to Hallfield B, who also had only nine men, by 46 runs.

In a game which was reduced to 30 overs per side, Hallfield scored 110-7 declared after 24 overs, with Sohail Butt scoring 60 and Sudager Hussain taking 3-28.

Shabaz Ishaq then took 4-27 for Hallfield as Gymkhana were all out for 64.

Hallfield have been relegated, even though they finished outside the relegation zone as their first team have been demoted from Group A and both teams can’t play in the same division, except for the lowest group.

Great Horton Church have been relegated, despite beating Bowling Baptists by five wickets.

Baptists were all out for 92, with Hassan Ali taking 4-12 for Church, who replied with 94-5.

The match between Parkside, who finished fifth, and Cambing, who ended up fourth, was abandoned due to the weather.

In Group C, Salem Athletic B finished as champions after beating Mandhata by ten wickets in quick time in a game that was reduced to 20 overs per side.

Mandhata were all out for 30, Rabnwaz taking 3-7, and Salem knocked them off in 2.5 overs, with Meher Sultan unbeaten on 31.

Debutants Denholme Clough came second after beating TABS, who finished fourth, by eight wickets in a game reduced to 38 overs per side.

TABS were all out for 109 off 37.5 overs, with Aamir Riaz taking 4-26, and Clough replied with 111-2 off 25.1 overs, with Mohammed Asif 63 not out and Mobasher Hussain 36 not out.

Cambing B ended up thrd after their game against already-relegated Mayfield B was abandoned without play.

Bradford Moor finished fourth after their game against Bradford Indians was abandoned after 16 overs.

Moor had scored 106-2 when the heavens opened, with Omer Malik unbeaten on 42.

Great Horton Meths A have been relegated after their game against Bowling Baptists B was abandoned without any play.

Greenfield have become champions of Group D after their game against Allerton B, who came third, was abandoned due to the weather.

Muff Field A have finished second after beating Muff Field B by ten wickets in a game reduced to 20 overs per side.

Muff Field B scored 78-5, with Paul Leach taking 5-26, and Muff Field A replied with 79-0, with Alan Broadbent unbeaten on 56.

Yorkshire LPS ended up fourth after their game against West Bowling was abandoned without play.

Central YMCA scored 25-4 off 17 overs before their game against Great Horton Meths B was abandoned.

In Group A, Interlink beat Hallfield by 65 runs in the only completed fixture in the section.

Ten-man Interlink declared at 209-8 after 35.1 overs, with Muhammad Data scoring 43 and Ebrahim Bismillah 35.

In reply, nine-man Hallfield, who have been relegated, were all out for 144 in 24 overs, with Sajid Mehmood making 35 and Muhammed Fayaz 30.

Bradford Moor finished second after their game was called off against Apperley Bridge, who have survived the drop, while Girlington came third after their game against Bradford Gymkhana was called off, and Great Horton Church were fourth place after their game against Allerton was called off.

Omar’s ended up fifth after their game against relegated Yorkshire LPS A was called off.
