PUDSEY St Lawrence dropped from joint second to fourth in the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Premier Division after suffering an 11-run defeat against Bradford & Bingley at Wagon Lane.

Hamza Iqbal (52) and No 10 Zac Saleem (43) enabled Bradford & Bingley to post a score of 190, which proved to be a winning total.

Richie Lamb (4-39) and Tom Hudson (3-25) bowled well for St Lawrence but the same could not be said of their batting as they were dismissed for 179.

Their defeat enabled Woodlands to climb above them into third place after they sneaked a one-run win over a battling Pudsey Congs.

Woodlands were indebted to opener Sam Frankland (40) and Mark Lawson (35) for their total of 201-7, with Yorkshire's Ryan Gibson (3-54) was the pick of the bowlers.

Congs fell agonisingly short of pulling off a win that would have boosted their hopes of pulling clear of relegation.

Zahid Nissar (59), James Ford (49) and Danish Hussain (35) all made good contributions, but Scott Richardson (3-39) and Mark Lawson (3-61) ensured that Woodlands took the win.

Leaders Hanging Heaton returned to winning ways with a comfortable eight-wicket victory at Townville.

Spinner Muhammed Rameez, last season's leading wicket- taker, took 6-37 as Townville were bowled out for 132, with Brayden Clarke top-scoring with 36.

Hanging Heaton eased to their target, with the Premier Division's top run-scorer Nick Connolly making 60 not out to take his tally for the season to 773.

Callum Geldart was unbeaten on 46 when victory was achieved.

Farsley are now the sole occupants of second place after spinner Adam Ahmed (6-24) bowled them to a 59-run win over Batley.

Shabir Rashid (49) battled but could not prevent bottom team Batley from subsiding to 153 all out in reply to Farsley's 212-5.

Ryan Cooper (73no) and Yorkshire's James Wainman (38no) were the key batsmen for the Red Lane side.

East Bierley avenged their opening-day defeat to Lightcliffe by scoring a 39-run win in the return fixture.

Half-centuries from Shaaiq Choudhary (81), Adam Patel (67) and Mark Gill (50) propelled East Bierley to 264-7.

Opener Alex Stead led the way for Lightcliffe with a fine 82, but his side couldn't capitalise on his good work as Umar Yaqub took 5-77.
