Steeton are still in the bottom three with Kirkstall and Collingham after a 123-run defeat by leaders Otley.

Dave Hester (71) top-scored in Otley’s 233 in which Matthew Price picked up four wickets but Steeton never looked likely to threaten the leaders’ target.

In contrast, Rawdon made a massive effort to try and chase down second-placed Beckwithshaw’s 270-6. Despite losing their first three wickets for only 14 and facing the constant threat of Alex Lilley (7-60), Rawdon made an impressive 257 which included a sixth-wicket stand of 129 between Ahmad Raja (105) and Ryan Gladwin (59).

With leaders Colton looking increasingly impressive, thrashing Follifoot by 152 runs, it was important that Guiseley kept up the pressure on them.

Jonathan Hudson (5-55) and Naveed Panesar (4-48) couldn’t prevent Knaresborough setting a 237 target and Calverley fell 67 short despite a stirring last-wicket stand between Hudson (22no) and Tom Westerman (55). Seven of Calverley’s victims fell to keeper Kiefer Peries.

Red Bolton (95no) and Kervon Christmas (4-17) starred as Ben Rhydding won by 76 runs at Addingham for whom Ted Haggas made 71 and took three wickets.

Menston may have allowed too big a gap to open up for them to go up but they certainly stirred things up with a crushing defeat of Hall Park.

Josh Dracup (66), Dhruv Jain (45) and Tom Lester (40) led the way as Menston set a target of 247 before Zarshad Khan (4-46) and David Nicholson (3-18) bowled out the visitors for 169. Only Mark McEneaney showed his usual form for Park, who need to regroup after a second successive defeat.

Tong Park Esholt’s recent good run came to a shuddering halt at in-form Leeds Modernians, who take over at the top. Gareth Wilkinson and No9 Muhammad Khan each scored 45 in Esholt’s 209-9 but the home side eased home with seven wickets and 16 overs to spare.
