NEWLY-promoted Horsforth are setting the early pace in Division One after halting Bilton's unbeaten start to the campaign.

They romped to an eight-wicket win with Byron Boshoff (66no) and Chris Gordon (60no) sharing an unbroken third-wicket stand of 111 as Horsforth passed their opponents' score of 172-9 with 18.3 overs to spare.

Bilton, who had won their previous two matches, had found run scoring tough against the tight bowling of Michael Lambert who took 3-13 in ten overs and Ryan Sharrocks (3-35).

Pool, who were runners up to Horsforth in Division Two last season, are still looking for the first win after an agonising three-run defeat against Collingham.

Their pursuit of Collingham's 274-8 was given a perfect start with openers David Paynter (125) and Mark Gilliver (47) putting on 185.

Paynter struck three sixes and 18 fours but his departure led to the run rate slowing and the loss of two wickets while chasing nine runs in the final over saw them finish on 271 all out. Collingham's innings had included 107 from Jack Harrison.

Rawdon's bright start was halted as second-placed Beckwithshaw beat them by ten wickets. Alex Lilley took 5-50 as Rawdon were bowled out for 138.

Burley secured their first win when they overcame Kirkstall Educational by 22 runs. Richard Brook hit 17 boundaries in an unbeaten 96 as Burley recovered from 77-6 to make 209.

Kirkstall’s Stephen Brown responded with 75 but accurate bowling from Shane Etherington (4-34) and Jason Wright (3-41) saw them dismissed for 187.

Nick Cockcroft hit a battling 104 for Ilkley but could not save his side from an eight-run defeat against North Leeds.

Cockcroft hit a six and 12 fours as he steered his side from a worrying 22-3 to 222-5 as they chased North Leeds total of 257-8.

Just when victory was looking a strong possibility, Cockcroft became one of three players to be run out as Ilkley finished on 249-9.

All-rounder Chris Thompson was the key figure in champions Otley's seven-wicket win over Steeton.

He took 4-32 at Steeton were bowled out for 105 and hit an unbeaten 33 to steer his side to their target.

Guiseley kept their 100 per cent record in Division Two but it was close, Thackley only managing six of the 16 runs they needed for victory in the final over.

Mike Truswell’s unbeaten 105 was the highlight of Guiseley’s 239-3 while Jack Holland (110) led the spirited reply.

Ben Waller (110) and Danny Hall (63) were the main contributors to Calverley’s 274. There were a few nervy moments as Knaresborough closed on the total only to finish three runs short.

Iqbal Khan (4-32) and Gary Owens (3-41) restricted Harden to 170 in which Mark Portlock made 61. There was never a doubt about the result after Skipton openers Sam Moore (91) and Shahid Nadeem (54) put on 145.

Kervan Christmas picked up four wickets as Addingham were bowled out for 170 but a 4-26 spell from Rob Ellis turned the game with Ben Rhydding dismissed for 127.

Hall Park continue to dominate in Division Three. Tom Carlyle (62) helped Menston to 155 but an unbeaten 68 from opener Gary Walton ensured Park kept their 100 per cent record.

A half-century from Danny Groom and 4-36 from Mahir Ali saw Tong Park Esholt make a winning start on their enforced return to their Low Springs ground, overcoming Leeds Modernians by 74 runs to go second.

Harry Smallwood (52) was top scorer in Olicanian’s 251-7 and even though the prolific Michael Richmond (54) and Matthew Dinsdale (66) put on 101 for New Rover’s first wicket, Smallwood (5-25) and Sajjad Ijaz (4-41) bowled them out for 184.

Phil Atkinson (76) headed Green Lane’s 262-9 which proved far too good for Silsden despite the efforts of David Brook (51) and Simon Cox (41)

Sam Lawrence’s devastating 5-25 spell helped dismiss Upper Wharfedale for 97 and Varun Deveshar (47no) eased Bolton Villas to a nine-wicket win.
