Ilkley boosted their chances of promotion to Aire-Wharfe League Division One with an emphatic nine-wicket win over inconsistent Green Lane.

Their latest triumph was set up by their bowlers. Luke Bott (5-19) and Andy Wheeler (3-32) struck as Green Lane were dismissed for just 92 at Nunroyd Park.

Having dismissed Adel for 114 with Mahir Ali taking 4-15 and Shane Marshall (3-24), Thackley looked set to give their promotion challenge a boost but they collapsed to 52-6 and despite the efforts of Paul Naylor (28) were still eight runs short of victory when they were dismissed.

Tong Park Esholt’s promotion hopes also suffered another setback as they went down by four wickets against Bardsey.

Big-hitting Sam Kirkley was in good form again for Tong Park Esholt. He smashed four sixes and ten fours before being dismissed for 99.

Although runaway Division One leaders Beckwithshaw took just one point from a losing draw against Kirkstall Educational, they remain 24 points clear with just six games to play.

Bilton moved into second place as they defeated bottom team Harden by ten runs.

Bilton have climbed above Waddilove Cup finalists Burley who suffered an agonising three-run defeat against last year’s double winners Collingham.

They made a brave bid to chase Collingham’s total of 212-5 but were bowled out for 209.

Former Olicanian batsman Ed Brown made a season’s best 79 from Ed Brown.

Ben Rhydding’s batting crumbled as they suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Guiseley.

Australian Tallan Wright (4-40) and Marcus Brown, whose six over spell returned 3-5, were the main destroyers.

Ben Rhydding’s score of 102 would have been even more meagre if it hadn’t been for a 55-run, sixth-wicket stand between skipper Jason Wright (46) and Laurie O’Connor (25no).

Guiseley were happy to be facing such a small target and cruised to an eight-wicket triumph with Harrison Durkin (64no) leading the way with a positive innings.

Steeton eased any lingering relegation worries with a win over Pool in a tense finish.

They eased home by three wickets with just two balls to spare as Pool made them fight for the six points.

Pool looked to be heading for victory when they reduced their opponents to 67-6, but Ben Hillard (90no) and Jonathan Best (73) put on 138 which enabled their side to pass Pool’s total of 215-7 with three wickets in hand.

Otley were always struggling to match Follifoot’s 205-5 but managed to hang on for a losing draw.

Division Three leaders Skipton were given a bit of a fright when they were 90-6 in reply to lowly Alwoodley’s 174 but Rob Walker (53no) and Izaak Beck (41no) clinched all six points to keep them eight points clear.

Upper Wharfedale remain the closest threat after they crushed Hall Park, dismissing them for just 43 after scoring 278-7.

It was Upper Wharfedale’s biggest-ever victory in terms of runs and was clinched with some fine swing bowling by Tom Baines (5-19).

Skipper Jamie Freebury (86), Callum Lockett (67) and Bobby Wilson (56) piled up the runs for Upper Wharfedale.

Horsforth won’t be shaken off, clinching a titanic win over New Rover.

Mark McEneaney (6-39) took his tally to 53 for the season as New Rover were bowled out for 189.

Dave Britton (50), Pad Burns (43no) and Bernard Hughes (6-50) starred as Olicanian took four points against Menston while a season best 5-21 from Richard Hey bowled out Silsden for 100 setting up a victory for Adding- ham.
