Beckwithshaw look like running away with the Division One title after defeating second-placed Burley to go 14 points clear.

Burley had hoped to close the gap between themselves and the leaders but were left to reflect ruefully on a poor batting display.

They looked to be building the foundations for a good total when they reached 52-1, but then everything came tumbling down as they plunged to 100 all out.

Beckwithshaw had little trouble in easing to their target in 28 overs.

It proved to be a good day for Beckwithshaw because Steeton and Pool also faltered.

Pool went down to an eight-wicket defeat against Ben Rhydding.

They looked to have posted a decent score of 191-6 when Josh Inglis hit eight fours in his knock of 50 and Niall Colman made 42.

Ben Rhydding weren’t daunted by the target and their successful run chase was masterminded by the ever-reliable Charlie Swallow who made 64 not out.

Swallow was well supported by Lewis Bolton (45) and Laurie O’Connor (42no).

Otley openers Sam Smith and Stewart Smith shared a first-wicket partnership of 155 which proved to be the springboard for their side’s 141-run win over Steeton.

Sam Smith played the lead role with a fine innings of 101 which included a six and 13 fours.

Stewart Smith was more circumspect as he made 57 in a total of 251-8. Paul Hardwick was the most successful bowler for Steeton with 6-52.

Steeton, who started the day in fourth place, were bowled out for 110 as James Davies took 6-46. Chris Walton (30) top scored as Steeton dropped to eighth in the table.

Guiseley, who were the pacesetters in the early weeks of the season, dropped to ninth after a six-wicket defeat by Bilton.

Their top order batting crumbled as they slipped to 32-4. Skipper Alex Bell (46) battled hard, but a total of 144 was never going to trouble Bilton.

Andrew Pickup (62) had big stands with Jake Wray (84) and Mike Ellis (37no) as Green Lane recovered from 55-4 to make 235-7 as they picked up five points for a winning draw against Colton in Division Two.

A century off 102 balls from Jonathan Hughes, who put on 147 with opening partner Alex Bailey (46) was the highlight as Ilkley took four points at second-placed Adel.

Hughes struck two sixes and 13 fours during his century, then Harry Wilson took 3-47 as Adel laboured to 110-7.

Andrew Doidge (3-18) and John Hughes (3-29) skittled out Tong Park Esholt for just 88 in which Khalid Rehman scored 27 before Joe Loorham (43) eased Rawdon to victory.

Horsforth and Skipton remain locked at the top of Division Three after both picked up four points from their weekend’s efforts.

Mark Gilliver (134) and Mark McEneaney (78no) shared a 165 stand in Horsforth’s 275-3 and McEneaney then weighed in with 5-49 but with Adrian Morgan hitting a half century, Menston managed to hang on for the draw.

Steve Carling (51) was top scorer in Skipton’s 229-8 but Aaron Chapman (81) made sure Hall Park earned a draw.

Half centuries from Neil Benbow and Ian Thomas and 81 from Jamie Hudson, along with a 5-68 spell from William Pearson were the highlights of Olicanian’s win over Woodhouse.

Third placed Addingham crashed to defeat when they were skittled out for 60 at Upper Wharfedale.
