Siân Morgan is in the Great Britain team
Siân Morgan will be flying the British flag this weekend as she makes her Senior International debut for Great Britain.
The 18-year-old Ilkley swimmer, now studying and training at Edinburgh University, has been selected to compete in the Fina/Arena World Cup in Berlin.
The Berlin leg is in one of eight cities to hold this prestigious competition during October and November and will feature some of the World’s best swimmers.
The World Cup will be hosted in the Middle East in Duba and Doha, and the Far East at Tokyo, Singapore and Beijing while the Europeanevents will be at Moscow and Stockholm in addition to Berlin.
Siân will be competing in the 50, 100, 200, 400m freestyle events and is excited to be competing against the reigning 400m freestyle Olympic Champion, Camille Muffat of France.
She has been training extremely hard both in the pool and the gym since starting Edinburgh Univ- ersity in September.
She is still adapting to the increased intensity of training but is hoping to gain fantastic experience from this meet and is looking forward to being proud to be British.
All Siân’s previous international experience has been gained with Wales.
She represented them at Delhi in the 2010 Commonwealth Games
