ALBION Sports slipped to a frustrating 4-2 home defeat, as visitors Handsworth Parramore leapfrogged them in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Parramore broke the deadlock when Danny Buttle fired past Albion’s keeper George Clarke in the 35th minute, but the Lions hit back through Dean Bartle.

Ombeni Rohanduka missed a penalty for Albion early in the second half but new signing Moise Kroma made amends, marking his debut with a well-taken goal just before the hour mark.

Lee Hill equalised after some poor defending though, before late goals from Brad Nicholson and Jonathan Froggatt saw the Ambers win comfortably.

Albion manager Kulwinder Sandhu was not pleased, saying: “We just can’t defend – it’s that simple.

“They (Handsworth) haven’t played through us and created opportunities in the area, they have played the ball out wide and it’s the high cross that we haven’t dealt with.

“But we have lads playing out of position because of injuries so we will get it right. We’re a young side and you always get that bit of inconsistency. They are good lads and I’m confident that it will come good.”

Eccleshill United climbed up to eighth with a 4-2 win at Goole AFC. The hosts got off to the perfect start as Oliver Smith gave them a first minute lead but the Eagles equalised quickly through Antony Brown.

They led 3-1 at the break after Brown added a penalty and Ben Grech-Brooksbank scored minutes before the interval.

There was an explosive end as Eagles skipper Sam Bradley made it 4-1 in the last minute, only for Adam Lund to add a last-gasp consolation for Goole.

A late Ryan Basi equaliser earned Thackley an impressive point at high flying Yorkshire Amateur.

The hosts edged in front when Brice Tiani netted on the stroke of half time before James Ngoe levelled in the 67th minute for Thackley. Matt Dempsey proceeded to put the Ammers back in front before Basi’s strike.

Liversedge went down 4-1 at Hall Road Rangers. Leon Smith broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 43rd minute, but Mitch Hamilton levelled early in the second half.

The home side rallied late on though, and Ben Vazquez, Reagan Waud and Connor Harman all scored inside the last seven minutes.

Campion are fifth in Division One after winning 4-2 at Swallownest. The home side took an early lead through Nathan Morritt but Jason Davis' goal ensured the sides reached the break level.

Davis bagged his brace before Laurence Sorhaindo doubled Campion’s lead. Danny White made it 3-2 but Jahro Parchment scored Campion’s fourth to wrap up the scoring late on.

Silsden extended their lead at the summit of the Hallmark Security League Premier Division to five points, as only three games were played due to the FA Cup.

The Cobbydalers left it late at Whitchurch Alport, however, as Kyle Hancock netted the winner in stoppage time to give the visitors a 2-1 victory.

Alex Hughes gave the hosts an early lead and Aiden Kirby equalised just after the hour mark before Hancock’s dramatic intervention.

Finally, Steeton lost their unbeaten home record in Division One North as they lost 3-1 against Longridge Town at Cougar Park.

The visitors scored early as Gary Basterfield beat the offside trap and slotted in, but Angus Maney cancelled that out with a 17th-minute strike.

Further goals from Jason Hart and Basterfield put the visitors 3-1 up at the break and although Longridge had Tom Ince sent off after an hour, the Chevrons failed to make the most of their man advantage late on.
