GUISELEY were pipped 4-3 by Leeds United in a thrilling encounter watched by a sell-out crowd of 3,400 at Nethermoor last night.

The Lions roared into a 2-0 lead as they chased their third pre-season win over Football League opposition having previously beaten Bradford City 2-1 and Bolton 3-1.

Assistant manager Paul Clayton opened the scoring before fellow striker Reece Thompson increased the lead.

Leeds hit back with a goal by Mateusz Klich before the break and they were on level terms soon after when Jack Clark netted.

A brace from former York City youngster Ryan Edmondson put the visitors 4-2 up, but the Lions didn’t throw in the towel.

They pulled a goal back from one of their trialists after good work from Curtis Morrison, but were unable to find an equaliser.

Premier League referee Jon Moss was in charge of the game – the second time he has refereed a Guiseley game this month.
