ILKLEY Ladies Captain Vicky Jordan hosted a Lady Captain’s Day last week. The weather conditions were perfect for some truly magnificent scores, as 69 ladies took part in a strokeplay competition at Ilkley Golf Club.
Ladies were welcomed at the Half Way House with Pimms and delicious eats. A great time was had by all, especially overall winner Sarah Hamer, who shot a fine nett score of 67.
Hamer was therefore one of several golfers to be rewarded as Jordan hosted a prize giving dinner later that evening. Second place went to the Lady Vice-Captain Sue Atkins and third prize to Elizabeth Webster, both with 70 on countback.
The nearest to the pin competition on the second hole went to Judith Booth, the nearest to the pin in two shots on the 10th to Angela Harrison and the longest drive on the 18th to new member Melody Svenson.
The winner of the nine-hole strokeplay competition went to Margaret Dodd with 19 points, with runner-up Judy Palmer scoring 18 points. The club would like to offer its congratulations to all of the ladies and to the Lady Captain for a wonderful day.
