OVER 350 runs were scored at Bolton Villas in the second round of the Aire-Wharfe League's Twenty20 Competition.

Villas' total of 183-5 was built around an opening partnership of 141, although that involved three players.

Rehaan Butt retired on 38 but fellow opener Andrew Clarke made 56, including six fours and two sixes, and was joined by Ahsaan Tanveer, whose dismissal for 37 came at 141.

Visitors Olicanian also made a good start, with Tom Watson (67) and skipper Harry Smallwood (25) putting on 84.

However, Hamzah Butt – the sixth bowler used by Villas – pegged them back with 3-17 and they finished on 172-6.

Top scorers were Horsforth Hall Park, whose 216-3 against New Rover was inspired by skipper Gary Walton (90no) and Tom Lester (49no).

Visiting captain Stuart Taylor did his best with 85 but they were dismissed for 147.

Adeel Ashraf (4-11) and Zahid Nissar (3-22) put the skids under Menston's middle and lower order as they were castled for 93, Nissar then making 42 not out in Saltaire's eight-wicket win in the 12th over.

Meanwhile, Andy Wear (59) and Josh Brooksbank (43) were in the runs for Harden in their 21-run win over Old Leodiensians, with Ben Crispin taking 4-28 for the victors.

Nav Panesar (55 and 2-17) starred as Calverley defeated Steeton by 81 runs.
