EXPERIENCED bowler Gurdev Singh is proving to be a fine acquisition for table-topping new boys Jer Lane.

He took 6-58 as his side bowled out Windhill & Daisy Hill for 177 to set up their seven-wicket win.

Another old hand, opening batsman Nahim Ashraf, made 54 in an opening stand of 96 with Chris Ramsden (38). Their good work was built on as Abubakar Dawood smashed an unbeaten 50 to see Jer to their fifth win.

Adwalton and Oulton remain hot on their heels after both recorded victories.

Adwalton were made to fight hard for their two-wicket success against Gildersome & Farnley Hill, while Oulton saw off Azaad by 43 runs.

Ghulam Hussain, whose 63 contained five sixes and seven fours, and Shoaib Rehman (36) helped Gildersome & Farnley Hill to post a challenging 212, despite Vinit Patel taking 4-64.

Skipper Ryan Robinson led the way with 42 and Chris Priestley chipped in with an unbeaten 32 as Adwalton edged home with eight wickets down.

Jonathan Edmondson took 3-65 for Gildersome.

Perhaps the unluckiest cricketer of the day was Azaad’s Zaeem Zulfqar.

He took 6-7 as Oulton were bowled out for 152 after Jonathan Gardiner (42) and Will Harrison (30) looked to have laid the foundations for a bigger total.

But it didn’t matter as Azaad perished for 109, with Joe Sykes taking 3-25.

Crossbank Methodists are up to fifth after their commanding 128-run win over Rodley.

James Lord hit a six and 13 fours to propel Crossbank Methodists to 191, while Imran Mayet (42) also made an important contribution against a bowling attack led by David Myers Charles (5-42).

Rodley’s batting crumbled as Paul Sauer (3-12) and Adam Holroyd (3-22) helped wrap up their innings for 63.

The division’s best bowling performance came from Sandal’s Lee Geldard, who took 7-10 as Great Preston were hustled out for 56.

Opener Kristian Shuttleworth (36no) helped Sandal secure a seven-wicket win.

Tom Chapman was another bowler to put in a fine effort by picking up 6-49 to help East Leeds to a five-wicket win over Heckmondwike & Carlinghow.

Only Usman Qureshi (35) made any impression as Heckmondwike & Carlinghow were bowled out for 132.

Jacob Naylor’s 41 guided East Leeds towards their target, while Heckmondwike & Carlinghow’s best bowler was Javed Iqbal (3-14).
