THERE was another super win for Lucy Haines at the BOFRA Arncliffe Fell Race.

The Ilkley Harriers runner finished 24th overall and first lady in 13:51. The men's race was won by Ted Mason of Wharfedale Harriers in 10:47.

Peter Haines and Norman Bush were only seconds apart in 54th (16:10) and 55th (16:17) respectively.

Peter Lewis was only a few minutes behind in 18:17.

Richard Joel and Jean Sullivan from Ilkley Harriers competed in the five-mile road race hosted by Ennis AC in County Clare, Ireland.

The event commemorates the start of Ireland's national festival of traditional music.

An undulating course along Irish country roads attracted a fast field and was won by Niall Shanahan, from Crecoran, in 25min 43sec.

Joel finished 19th in 33:03 and Jean 54th in 40:06.

Sally Armitage and Pete Shields ran in another five-mile race, the Firefighter's 5, closer to home in Birkenshaw.

The winner was Jonathan Johnson in 27:01. Armitage was 58th in 36:32 and Shields 144th in 42:20.

Geoff Howard managed to keep his feet firmly on the ground along the upper and lower levels of Bispham promenade's flat, fast but rather monotonous Blackpool Air Show 10k course on Sunday.

A warm day moderated by a gentle sea breeze helped him to get within one second of his best 2016 10k time of 42:41s but not enough to be 1st v70 in this race.

Rob Wells from Bedford was about half a minute faster and the overall winner was Rob Webb of Rossendale in 33:11.
