GUISELEY midfielder Will Hatfield has signed a new contract.

The 25 year-old is a product of Leeds United's Academy, having joined the club as an eight-year-old.

He rose through the youth team into the reserves, where he captained the side.

After receiving a squad number for the first team at Leeds during the 2010–11 pre-season, he went out on loan in January 2011 to York City, who were then in the Conference.

That October, Hatfield joined Sky Bet League Two side Accrington Stanley on loan before joining Lincoln City on trial with a view to joining them on loan.

In January 2012, he mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Leeds United, and then signed for Conference North club FC Halifax Town.

Next month, he re-signed for Accrington Stanley for whom he scored four goals in an FA Cup tie against AFC Fylde.

Hatfield joined Guiseley for the start of the 2015-16 season and has impressed with his all-action displays.

In his youth, Will was an outstanding batsman in the Yorkshire Schools' set up, and had to make the career choice between cricket and football.
