Ilkley Dynamo 8 Ventus United 1
DYNAMO produced their best team performance of the season to lift the Wharfedale & District Sunday Cup Final at Nethermoor.
Ventus, who play in the Bradford Sunday League, last won the Machell Trophy in 2014.
Dynamo, from the Wharfedale Triangle League, had won the competition the previous year and were far quicker out of the blocks.
A marvellous hat-trick from the man of the match Lee McGowan stunned Ventus to put Dynamo 3-0 ahead at the break.
Some outstanding saves from David Freer, the Dynamo keeper, thwarted the Yeadon side as they tried to hit back.
Decisive contributions by Sam Westerman and Sam Webster crowned ensured Dynamo always looked dangerous on attack.
Struan Connor helped himself to a hat-trick while Danny Williams and the quicksilver Danny Bryan rounded off the scoring.
The victory meant that team manager Oli Musgrave picked up a trophy in his first season at the helm.
