THREE of Ilkley’s talented young players have been selected for the Yorkshire senior squad.

Full back Ben Magee, centre Elliot Morgan and scrum half Jack Maplesden have been rewarded for their performances for the Dalesmen in National Three North this season.

Yorkshire have three games in the Bill Beaumont County Championship at home to Cheshire on May 6 and Eastern Counties on May 20 and way to Northumberland on May 13.

Ilkley’s head of rugby Rhys Morgan said: “I am delighted for the players and thrilled for the club.

“This is deserved recognition after all the hard work they have put in during the current season.

“All three of them are developing as players all the time.”

Ilkley made mathematically certain of their place in National League Three next season with an impressive 17-3 win over Kendal in their final home game on Saturday.

The Dalesmen have two away fixtures at rock-bottom Stockport on Saturday and Billingham next week.

Their aim is to collect enough points to dislodge Lymm from eighth place. The Cheshire side have three points more than Ilkley who face Morley away and Cleckheaton at home in their final matches.

Impressive second row Harry Adams is unavailable for Ilkley’s trip to Stockport but Adam Newman is available to return.
