Whitkirk Wanderers Reserves 2 Ilkley Town Reserves 2

ILKLEY Reserves salvaged a West Yorkshire League Alliance Two point with a dramatic last-minute equaliser by goalkeeper Connor Tinnion.

Ilkley had earlier taken the lead, against the run of play, when a quick break by Jake Holberry ended in him being upended by the home keeper. Tom Rennolds calmly dispatched the penalty.

Ilkley conceded just before half-time when poor marking at a corner resulted in a free header for Whitkirk.

The second half saw Whitkirk take control with good wing play requiring several pieces of last-minute defending from Ilkley. Whitkirk's second goal was scored when Ilkley reacted slowly to a shot hitting the bar.

With 20 minutes to go James Brennan came off the bench and had a couple of headed chances miss narrowly as finally momentum swung towards Ilkley.

In a grandstand finish the Ilkley keeper raced up for the final set play, challenged for the ball at the near post and in the melee that followed turned it past his opposite number.
