MUD, mud, glorious mud greeted Ilkley Harriers at the Peco cross country race four across Pendas fields and woods on Sunday.

There were some good results, especially from Ellie Kitchen who finished in 14th position in the ladies race.

Steve Murray was first male Harrier home in 39;34 followed by Rob Budding in 40:05, Andrew Jackson in 42:27, Neil Bloor in 43:36, Geoffrey White 45:32, Peter Lewis 47:36 and Don McCrea in 53:17.

Ellie Kitchen ran 39:20, Alison Bennett 48:18, Val Kerr 49:22, Steph Fox 51:12, Hilda Coulsey 52:23, Sally Wright 59:28 and Claire Shoulder 74:19.

Jim Ryder ran the Flower Scar Fell Race this Saturday, 8.3 miles with 2,200feet from Todmorden Cricket Club. He was 27th out of 176 in 1h 19min and took the first V50 prize.

The race followed a new route this year. It has everything in it from steep long climbs, short drops, moorland tussocks, muddy plantation paths, contours steep above the Todmorden valley.

Well organised, friendly and recommended.

The park runs saw Steph Fox run 25:30 at Bradford Lister Park, Jean Sullivan 24:25 and Jennifer Carne 30:01 at Harrogate, Geoff Howard 22:53 and Hilda Coulsey 25:48 at Skipton, Jack Wood 18:12 at Fell Foot Newby Bridge and Tim Ashford 20:50 at Hatfield Forest.
