GUISELEY face another long journey and another tough game when they head to promotion-chasing Barrow in the National League tonight – weather permitting.

There were no plans in place for a pitch inspection at the Furness Building Society Stadium, but as the tail-end of storm Angus continued to batter the north of the country last night many of today’s sporting fixtures will be under threat.

Adam Lockwood’s Guiseley travelled to the opposite end of the country on Saturday and were beaten 2-0 at Dover Athletic who are immediately below the Bluebirds in the table.

Barrow are serious challengers under the guidance of Paul Cox and are the only club in the division to be unbeaten at home.

They are just two points off second place, while rock-bottom Guiseley are four points below the safety mark.

Lockwood’s Lions didn’t pick up any fresh injury concerns in their defeat at Dover so the manager will have options as he picks a side to do battle with fifth-placed Barrow.

The Lions were good on the counter-attack at Dover and Alex Purver was the most threatening of Guiseley players going forward. They were undone by a shockingly bad start to the second half when Dover plundered their two goals inside four minutes.

Farsley Celtic will be hoping to get back in Evo-Stik League action after their Division One North game at Droylsden on Saturday was postponed, but tonight’s away fixture is subject to a 3.30pm pitch inspection.

Glossop North End are the Celts' hosts and if the game does get the go ahead it will be second versus third.

The home side are two points better off but Farsley have two games in hand so would leapfrog Glossop with a win.

The Celts were top before their trip to take on Barwell in the FA Trophy a week last Saturday which was their last run out.

Silsden are due to travel to Charnock Richard in the Hallmark Security League. The Division One rivals were both denied any action at the weekend as their respective games were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

The third-placed hosts should have been at Chadderton, while Silsden were due to journey to Ashton Town.
