National League Two North: South Leicester 33 Otley 31

OTLEY maintained their attacking form to create many scoring opportunities, picking up five tries but missing out on other openings and allowing their hosts to match them, with the result being decided by a single conversion.

The visitors made all the early running, only to let Leicester in for a soft try on their first visit to the Otley 22 in the 12th minute, centre Harry Priestnall being put over by fly half Richard Aley, who added the conversion.

Spurred on by this, they began to apply pressure before Otley scored a brilliant try by winger Paul Petchey, who intercepted on his 22 to race to the line for full back Tom Hodson to convert.

Leicester quickly struck back with two tries from close-in line-outs, winger Aaron Martin on 21 minutes and full back Calum Gunn four minutes later scoring, each being converted to establish a 21-7 lead which they held up to half-time.

A good third quarter, however, led to Otley taking over, scrum half Max Johnson finishing good work by hooker Luke Chadwick six minutes after the restart, Hodson converting, and four minutes later he was in again.

Then, on 59 minutes, Hodson came into the line to cut through on halfway, draw the cover and put centre Henry Roberts over and then convert.

The five-point lead lasted just four minutes, though, centre Ryan Hough grabbing a try for the hosts only for prop Tipiloma Kivilu to force his way over, lock Tom Cheney then levelling once more for Aley to secure the game with the conversion.
