Reece Webb-Foster is remaining open-minded about the prospect of extending his loan at Guiseley.

The rookie Bradford striker, 18, made an encouraging debut in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at home to fellow strugglers Woking.

It was his first appearance after joining the Lions on an initial 28-day loan from Valley Parade.

With Bantams boss Stuart McCall having a wealth of striking options at his disposal, Webb-Foster has been forced to look elsewhere for first-team opportunities.

The teenage forward showed glimpses of his talent against Woking before being replaced on the hour mark.

“I enjoyed my shift because I put in a lot of work down the left wing,” he said.

“I only met the lads last Thursday, so to come straight in and play was really enjoyable.

“I thought we dominated large spells of the game and deserved to win.

“The loan is for 28 days at first and we will see what happens from there.

“There aren't many opportunities at Bradford at the moment to play or come off the bench.

“I played against Carlisle and Burnley, so playing games is the important thing.

“We will see how the initial loan at Guiseley goes and if the gaffer here likes me.

“Coming to Guiseley is a great chance to get out and play games at a good standard.

“I train Tuesday and Thursday at Guiseley and Monday and Friday at Bradford.”

Webb-Foster hails from Keighley and has made five appearances for Bradford, making his first start in the Checkatrade Trophy win over Stoke Under-23s in August.

He scored four goals in eight games on loan at National League North side Bradford Park Avenue last season.

Webb-Foster added: “I've got another year on my contract at Bradford after this one.

“The plan is to go back after a good loan spell and force my way in at Bradford.

“It's all about playing games and hopefully getting some goals along the way.

“There is strong competition for places at Bradford and you can't be too upset about it.

“You've just got to get on with and go and make your name somewhere else. I'm still only 18.”

Interim Guiseley boss Adam Lockwood said of Webb-Foster: “I've been impressed with Reece as a person, which is very important to me.

“He comes very, very highly recommended, not just by the people at Bradford but people who've worked with him for a number of years.

“He's got a really bright future in the game.

“This level will be different to what he's used to, so it might take him time to grow into that – or he might hit the ground running.

“He's been playing a lot of games recently and is a young lad.

It takes out of you physically and mentally but I'm sure it will grow into performances at this level.”
