ILKLEY Rugby Club have confirmed three signings and a new coaching appointment.

Second row Kieran Dannart, centre Chris Gemmell and stand-off Charles Ramsay have been added to the Dalesmen's squad for the club's second season in National Three North.

Dannart and Ramsay, whose previous clubs were Falkirk and Malton & Norton respectively, have both had spells playing club rugby in Australia, while Gemmell arrives from near-neighbours Otley.

Ramsay is the brother of Ilkley flanker Gus and will be competing for the No 10 jersey with Ed Brown.

Dannart will fill the void caused by the retirement of James Spencer and Gemmell will provide valuable cover in the backs where the departure of last season's skipper Josh Kimber and the retirement of Steve Nolson has been followed by the news that young winger Declan Jackson is moving down south to take up a work placement.

The new appointment in the coaching team sees under-16 coach Andy Hinchliffe take on the role of head of youth development to bridge the gap between the juniors and the senior sides.

Head of rugby Rhys Morgan said: "We are pleased with the new signings and the appointment of Andy to his new role. We hope to announce some more new signings shortly."

Ilkley are also celebrating after winning the Caldy sevens last weekend.
