ILKLEY will be on a double mission this Saturday when they chase league and cup success on Saturday.

Their National Three North clash with Sheffield at Stacks Field will also decide who proceeds to the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Cup.

It should make for an intriguing afternoon at Stacks Field – one full of all sorts of possibilities.

Head of rugby Rhys Morgan said: “We are looking into all the little issues the game throws up. If it finishes as a draw we will share the points in the league and then have to play extra time to decide who wins the cup tie.

“It should make for an interesting afternoon and we know we are in for a real test after just pipping Sheffield for the North One East title last season.

“We are in good heart after our three away wins at Burnage, Billingham and Stockport, but we know we will have to work hard for another victory.”

There’s mixed injury news emerging from the Ilkley camp Josh Kimber has had the plaster removed from his damaged wrist and is fit to return, but full back Ben Magee has suffered a bad cut to his hand at work and is a big doubt.

With Ed Bown having impressed at stand off in Kimber’s absence, the skipper may have to make his return as the last line of defence although JH Johnson and Paul Petchey are others who could be considered for the role if Magee is ruled out.
