Ilkley Town 2 Rawdon Old Boys 2 (Ilkley won 5-4 on pens)

HOLDERS Ilkley Town were spot on to clinch their place in the semi-finals of the Wharfedale District FA Cup.

Substitute Simon Armstrong fires home the decisive penalty after Matt Cressey, Darren Munday, Adam Davey and Connor Greenwood had all netted and keeper James Hirst had produce one fine save.

Ilkley were twice behind in the game. The first goal came after just four minutes when Darren Munday, at full stretch, diverted a ball into his own net.

Both sides had chances but it wasn't until the 53rd minute that Ilkley produced an equaliser. Matt Cressey's cross found James Wilson whose far post header was poked towards goal by Tom Smith and in off a defender.

Injuries to James Wilson and Smith forced Ilkley into changes with James Barker and Dave Hancock joining the action.

Rawdon hit the bar before taking the lead in the 75th minute from another counter attack that was finished confidently.

Ilkley need an equaliser and it was their former Rawdon player James Barker who provided when he slotted home Connor Greenwood's pass.

Rawdon were reduced to ten men in the closing minutes after one of their players fouled keeper Hirst.

Despite being a man down, Rawdon dug in and kept Ilkley at bay in extra time before finally succumbing in the penalty shoot out.
