ILKLEY have won the Aire-Wharfe Senior League's Peter Rowney Trophy, which is a six-a-side tournament for under-nines.
Played at Rawdon Cricket Club and involving 14 teams, the tournament group games began in overcast conditions which turned into heavy rain but the matches were all played.
Rawdon was once again the venue for the play-off finals but Alwoodley, who had won through to the last four by the toss of a coin, were unable to play on the rearranged date, so the hosts, who had lost that coin toss, filled in.
Ilkley played Rawdon in the first semi-final and won by four runs (228-224), while Menston defeated Adel in the second semi-final by six runs (219-213).
The final was one-sided, with Ilkley beating Menston by 42 runs (254-212), while Adel overcame Rawdon by seven runs in the third and fourth-placed play-off (219-212).
