Guiseley boss Mark Bower is confident his squad is approaching full strength as they prepare for two games in three days over Easter.

The Lions lost 1-0 at Chorley on Tuesday and travel to Colwyn Bay on Saturday before hosting Stalybridge at Nethermoor on Easter Monday.

Bower wants six points from the two games as his men seek to hit top form ahead of an expected play-off battle to reach the Conference Premier.

Bower said: “Colwyn Bay have won their last three games and beat Tamworth at home recently.

“Stalybridge have a new manager and are also fighting for their lives, so they will be two really difficult games and if we can come away with six points I’ll be delighted.

“The automatic spot has gone now and that’s always your first target.

“But the next best thing is to try and get up through the play-offs, so we’ve got to make sure that we give ourselves the best chance of achieving that.

“This year has been frustrating at times because we’ve had a few injuries to some key players.

“A few tight games and decisions have gone against us, but we’re really looking forward to the end of the season now.

“We’ve got players coming back from injury so if we can get them back fit, then we’ve got a really good chance of reaching the Conference Premier at the end of the season.”

Liam Dickinson missed Tuesday’s defeat at Chorley and must serve the final game of his ban on Saturday before returning to contention on Easter Monday.

Bower added: “I’m hoping that Gavin Rothery can do a full training session on Thursday night, which will probably mean that he’s in contention for the weekend.

“Danny Ellis has been out recently so we will assess him on Thursday night and he’s got a chance of being available for the weekend.

“Oli Johnson has just come back from injury but played the full ninety minutes at Chorley and looked pretty strong.

“Danny Hall and Wayne Brooksby both came back into the side after their injuries as well at Chorley and came through with no ill effects.

“We should be close to full-strength for Monday’s game, with the exception of Ben Parker, who we might not see him again this season.”
