SSE Yorkshire Division Three: Old Otliensians 20, Baildon 17

BAILDON looked like they were in trouble in the first half, Old Otliensians spreading the ball wide for their pacy winger to score after six minutes.

Although the visitors struggled to secure ball, they levelled the scores when Hayden Lister supported a break from his centre partner Joe Moore to run under the posts from 20 yards out.

However, the rest of the half belonged to the hosts, who added a penalty and two tries, one of which was converted, to lead 20-7.

But the roles were reversed in the second half, with Andy Magee producing some sterling work around the breakdown before Lister got his second converted try in the 56th minute.

Superior line-out work from hooker Tom Massey and flanker Danny Pollard gave Baildon options, with scrum half Robbie Hill releasing the forwards down the ten-12 channel as Otliensians were pinned in their 22.

Rolling mauls from line-outs were pulled down by Otliensians, resulting in numerous penalties but no yellow cards.

Lock Tom Peel went through the middle of a ruck following a five-metre line-out and appeared to ground the ball on the line but the referee was unsighted and ruled held up after the home forwards then got their hands under the ball.

Baildon did add a penalty with ten minutes to go, but their comeback only produced a losing bonus point.
