HT Sports 8 Ilkley Dynamo 1

Dynamo crashed out of the fourth round of West Riding County FA Sunday Cup after a tough game against the holders, HT Sports of Leeds.

The match was scheduled to be played at New Farnley but was switched to the Ilkley ground at the last minute because of a waterlogged pitch.

HT Sports have won this trophy three times in recent years. They were victorious in 2009, 2013 and also in 2014.They also reached the semi-final of the National FA Sunday Cup two years ago.

Looking to win the trophy for a third-successive time, a feat no team has achieved previously, they started the game in fine style in this last 16 tie.

They were 3-0 ahead after 25 minutes as the experienced side quickly mastered the very heavy conditions. Dynamo battled hard but were closed down well and looked rusty having not played for five weeks.

HT Sports had played on three occasions over the same period and they looked disciplined and sharp adding two further goals before the interval.

However, Dynamo did manage to lift the tempo after the break with Danny Bryan and Danny Bott both influential in attempting to drive the team forward but uncharacteristically Dynamo were caught in possession far too often.

Although errors were severely punished, with the visitors adding three further goals, chances were created late in the game and the impressive Ross Wilson, who regularly ran at the HT Sports defenders, scored Dynamo's solitary goal.

Dynamo are at home to old rivals Yeadon Veterans in the Wharfedale & District FA Machell's Sunday FA Cup quarter-final replay.
