GUISELEY'S squad strength will be tested as they bid for FA Cup glory on Saturday.

The Lions have not only been hit by injuries but also by a stomach bug as the Conference North side prepare to visit Vanarama Premier side Grimsby Town.

"We haven't a full squad to pick from at the moment," said Guiseley manager Mark Bower.

"AJ (Alex Johnson) and Danny Hall are out and Ben Parker, Danny Ellis, Adam Boyes and Ryan Toulson are all struggling with knocks, and we also have a stomach bug.

"We will know more after training tonight but we also know that we have enough quality in the squad to put on a performance."

The carrot from this fourth qualifying round tie is a place in the first-round proper on Saturday, November 8, and the opportunity to face clubs such as Bradford City or Sheffield United.

Bower said: "Grimsby away is about the biggest tie that we could have as they may not be in the Football League at the moment but they have a Football League tradition.

"We haven't had the chance to watch them as they have only played one match since the draw was made, and that was at Torquay, last Saturday, but we have spoken to one or two people about them and I know there will be a good atmosphere as I have played at the ground myself."

Grimsby, who are eighth in the Vanarama Premier and regularly attract home crowds of between 3,000 and 3,800, have plenty of players with Football League experience, such as former Bradford City duo Ross Hannah and Scott Neilson.

However, Bower countered: "We also have plenty of players with Football League experience, so I don't think the atmosphere will be a problem."

Tickets are £16 for adults and £10 for 15 to 18-year-olds if they are purchased online before 1pm on match day and collected from the ticket office.

Guiseley supporters have been allocated the Visitors' Stand, but if tickets are bought after 1pm they must be purchased from Grimsby's ticket office and are £18 and £12 respectively.

On Tuesday, Guiseley will either have a home FA Cup replay (normal ticket prices, normal admission policy) or will visit Selby Town in the second of the West Riding County Cup.
