EIGHT Ilkley Harriers headed to Langdale for two separate races, the Three Shires fell race and the Great Langdale Half Marathon.

Nick Pearce was second V60 in the penultimate Lakeland Classics fell race and Kate Archer, Jann Smith and Chloe Haines took the ladies' team prize.

Results: 55th 2.26:12 Nick Pearce; 89th 2.40:22 Will Buckton; 118th 2.47:06 Kate Archer; 121st 2.47:43 Jann Smith; 191st 3.18:00 Chloe Haines. There were 220 runners.

The Half Marathon crossed the path of the fell race outside the Three Shires Inn, with some near collisions as the race finished in the opposite direction. Caz Farrow took 34th overall and first F40 in a time of 1.34:42 on a hilly course.

Results: 1st 1:18:58 Ross Anderson (Jarrow & Hebburn AC); 34th 1.34:42 Caz Farrow 1st F40; 72nd 1.47:23 Ewan Walsh; 138th 1.59:57 Jean Sullivan. 277 finished.

Steve Turland also headed to the Lakes for the Scafell Pike fell race up and down England's highest peak from Wasdale.

Steve said: "A real leg burner this one. I finished in 14th place in 78 minutes. Joss Naylor was there giving out the prizes!"

The Ilkley Triathlon was well supported, with ten Harriers competing in a field of 328 triathletes.

Ralph Tench was first home for Ilkley in 11th overall and first V45. Hilda Coulsey was first F60 and said: "Plenty of Harriers were out enjoying a super day from the Lido. Many thanks to all the marshals and volunteers, particularly the Coy family, who spent the long day welcoming, helping and supporting us all so well."
