GUISELEY’S versatility in victory is delighting manager Mark Bower.

The Lions currently top the Vanarama Conference North table after three straight wins with no goals against.

This weekend they will look to extend their winning start at AFC Fylde on Saturday and home to Gainsborough Trinity on Monday.

Former Bantams defender Bower, said: “We are finding different ways to win. We are being clinical and we are showing character and organisation.”

Guiseley, who are joint top with Boston United on nine points, will have played five league matches in 17 days by Monday evening.

The Lions have had four players out through injuries, which Bower calls “a little bit disappointing,” and he knows he may have to ring the changes.

The 34-year-old said: “I will probably not alter things too much on Saturday but, with us having two matches in three days, I may then have to freshen things up against Gainsborough.

“Danny Hall (broken tibula) will be out for a while, Danny Lowe (groin) will probably be another two weeks, Alex Johnson’s ankle ligament injury is not clearing up, which is frustrating, and Ollie Johnson has a thigh strain.

“However, we are hoping that Ollie will be back for this weekend.”

AFC Fylde came up via the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-offs, and Bower said: “You often find that promoted teams have momentum early the following season but we feel that we have momentum from the way we finished last time.

“As for Gainsborough, they will also be difficult as they are a big, strong, physical unit and have already beaten Hednesford this season
