MARK Bower has revealed that former Bradford City player Jack Stockdill may not be their last signing before the new Conference North campaign starts in just over a fortnight.

The Guiseley manager, who confirmed the capture of 19-year-old midfielder Stockdill at the weekend after he impressed during pre-season, could well add a forward.

Bower explained: "With AJ (Alex Johnson) and OJ (Oli Johnson) still struggling with injuries, we are a bit light up front and Adam Boyes can be an isolated figure.

"We could possibly sign somebody later this week or even next week, although if we don't then we can still cause sides problems as Adam works his socks off up front."

Stockdill is Guiseley's fourth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Danny Lowe, Ryan Toulson and Boyes, with the ex-Bantam a versatile addition to the Lions’ squad.

The former City youth team captain agreed terms on Sunday and bolsters Bower’s options ahead of his side’s league opener against Leamington on August 9.

Bower said: “Jack is a player who has really impressed us during pre-season training and also in our friendlies.

“He has good pedigree from his time with Bradford and I’m sure he will prove a really useful member of the squad during the coming campaign.”

On Saturday, Guiseley are at home to Conference Premier Nuneaton Town before travelling to Evo-Stik Division One North Clitheroe on Tuesday.

Bower added: "Our previous friendlies have either been against teams that are well above us or teams that are well below us. These two matches will be a real barometer as to how we are progressing as they are against teams near our level."
