ILKLEY Grammar School took the top slot at the first-ever Ilkley Secondary Schools gala.
The gala, organised by Ilkley Swimming club was a closely fought competition between over 30 children from IGS, Prince Henry’s and St Mary’s.
The swimmers competed in over 40 events with the girls competition coming right down to the last race, with Ilkley beating Princes Henry’s into third place in the relay and thus beating Prince henry’s by a mere four points.
Ilkley Grammar school won the boys competition comfortably given the overall title spot with Prince Henry's coming in second place and St Mary’s third.
The children and spectator thoroughly enjoyed the event which hopefully will be the first of many
